The DAAM Digital/Print Hybrid series brings together a series of works incorporating an art-print and embedded download code. Inspired by the labels’ desire to reduce waste, the format forgoes the plastic of CD’s/tapes, whilst maintaining the allure of a tangible physical artefact. The DL code encourages purchasers to download their music rather that stream it (since streaming comes with its own, hidden, ecological footprint). 

Each volume of the series consists of 4 parts, available monthly throughout late 24/early 25, with each releases’ respective print making up a single larger image.

Part 1 (Oct 2024): Chelidon Frame: Dust of This Planet

A work of classic drone inspired by Eugene Thacker's book "In The Dust Of This Planet". Glacial chordal changes and quivering organ tones set against a bed of ponderous electronics.

Part 2 (Nov 2024): Paul Yates: New Friends and Family

Subtle, restrained ambience, a world of distant thunder and opaque oscillations. A longform work exploring an alien landscape, gradually evolving buzzes, screeches and broken machinery.

Part 3 (Dec 2024): Heavy Cloud: Low

Low was a band, an album by Bowie, a state of unhappiness, a sound or voice near or at the bottom of the range of sounds. Low is not honest or fair, of bad quality, not considered important, below the usual level, close to the ground or the bottom of something, producing only a small amount of sound, heat, or light.

Low is a collection of quieter, ambient experiments with improvised guitar, percussive loops, cut ups and manipulations, mixed with more reflective drone and synth soundscapes.

Part 4 (Jan 2024): Federico Balducci / Kakodaimonia: The Cognitive Intuition or Belief

The music of Puerto Rican guitarist and composer Federico Balducci can be described as a mixture of classical and ambient music with unusually intricate harmonies. Federico Balducci has a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music. Currently, Federico mostly works on film scores for short films and documentaries.

The music of New Hampshire based musician Taylor Belanger is often based in extreme metal, playing with acts such as Nugreth and Ukakuja. Kakodaimonia is his stab at experimental, dark ambient, drone, and power electronics.
