Difficult Art and Music
DAAM is a label and artist support agency focussed on conceptual, academic, and challenging music and art. Avoiding strict genre or style constraints, we work to promote artists whose work, though existing outside of the mainstream, demonstrates unusual levels of consideration and development. From New Music to experimental synthesis, sound-art to post-punk, we strive to showcase avant-garde approaches through the release of sensitive, ecological, and unusual artefacts.
As a collective, DAAM not only supports its associated artists to release work on the label, but equally to engage with opportunities elsewhere, supporting the wider independent art eco-system. DAAM is actively engaged in research activities to further examine the culture and social value of our work, with the label often serving as the public-facing repository for the practice-based research of our sister organisation, 7000 Trees.
We welcome approach from interested parties who may wish to develop research, release / produce new work, or otherwise collaborate with us.
